How to use a Paint brush?

A great Paint job is done only by a good paint and a good paint brush. Firstly plan and make sure you buy the right paintbrush depending on the paint you are about to use. Natural bristle paint brush are apt for oil based paints and Synthetic Filament paint brushes are best for the water based paints.

To Conserve paint use the ‘Paint Can’ for the entire job.

Dip the brush directly into the paint up to 1/3 of the length of the Paint brush head. This prevents from the paint brush head from getting heavily loaded with paint and dripping later while applying them in the wall.

Do not scrape the paint off the brush by dragging across the edge of the can. Rather, slightly tap the paint brush on its sides after loading the paint inside the Paint Can. This off-loads excess paints from the paint brush head.

For ‘Corner Cutting’ Paint brush is the best tool in world yet. If you are right handed, cut in the wall at the ceiling corners from left to right. If left handed, vice-versa. This gives you visual control of the brush flow and the paint application on the wall.

Press the brush against the wall just enough to flex the bristles and not too much which will bend more than the optimal limit. By applying more pressure here will expel excess paint out from the head, making the section of the wall giving a thick and uneven layer of paint. Also wastage of paint will be more.

The best angle to hold the paintbrush is 45 degree and fine diagonal strokes will get the job done smoothly for the initial coat. Then horizontal strokes on the final coat on the large area. Now you are staring at a smooth and complete wall.

Don’t forget to clean the brush immediately after finish painting the wall every time.
